Beijing Revisited: World Freestyle Standard

Simone Segatori - Annette Sudol, GER © 王毅 Wang Yi It has taken quite some time, but finally the performances of the couples competing in the 2011 World DanceSport Championship Freestyle Standard have been put online on the WDSF YouTube channel DanceSport Total.

Particularly in the case of a freestyle competition, the video recordings of such unique and - quite possibly - irrepeatable performances should be the legacy that every DanceSport enthusiast is entitled to view in the highest quality possible.

2011 Beijing was the inaugural edition of the WDSF World Freestyle and things will certainly improve for the next championships. These recordings - courtesy of Yoshihiro Arita - are the best WDSF can do until the Chinese broadcasters provide access to their material. WDSF General Secretary Shawn Tay is working on that.
